The Mervyn M. Dymally College of Nursing seeks to advance the science and art of nursing by conducting nursing research and providing nursing students with high-quality education. Our programs emphasizes the health status of underserved communities, for the purpose of enabling graduates to provide evidence-based nursing care with dignity, respect and compassion to all nursing clients.

Goal #1 Demonstrate a commitment to becoming nationally recognized leader in the field of nursing | Faculty should be pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing science (PhD) or nursing practice (DNP) or other doctoral degree in a related field/Possesses a doctoral degree in nursing science (PhD) or nursing practice (DNP) or other doctoral degree in a related field. Demonstrate a commitment to becoming a nationally recognized leader in the field of nursing. |
Goal #2 Engage in research, scholarly work and/or publications, and sponsored research grant writing. | Engage in research, scholarly work, and/or publications, and sponsored research grant writing. Faculty are expected to achieve one or more of the following: 1) be the principal investigator (PI) or co-investigator (Co-I), 2) have at least one publication and/or presented a conference and 3) attend one formal grant-writing course. |
Goal #3 Maintain competency in an area of clinical expertise | Maintain competency in an area of clinical expertise. The expectation is for faculty to maintain their area of clinical/related practice and expertise to the courses they teach. |
