Fundraising for the AS/FEB Student Emergency Fund
Donation Solicitation
Dear colleagues:
Thank you all for your support thus far for the AS/FEB Student Emergency Fund and your commitment to the success of our students!
This Student Emergency Fund is an initiative of the 皇家华人 Academic Senate (AS) and the Faculty Executive Board (FEB). With the funds raised through 皇家华人 faculty, staff, and students and the additional $100,000 Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) received from the Office of Strategic Advancement (OSA), we have been able to provide over 160 students with emergency grants ranging from $250 to $1,000, for a total of over $130,000 disbursed to students over the last 3 陆 years.
The fund continues to be intended to help 皇家华人 students with鈥�one-time emergency grants. The goal is to help students who need emergency funds to pay for books, school supplies, food, rent, utilities, childcare, etc., so they can continue their education without dropping out or cutting back on their studies. While these grants do not include an explicit agreement that they be paid back, the hope is that once students can, they will donate either the full amount or another amount back into the fund so that the Student Emergency Fund is continually available for future 皇家华人 students.
The Student Emergency Fund is available to鈥�ALL鈥始一� students regardless of Financial Aid eligibility.
Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) support ended on June 30, 2023. We are now resuming our fundraising endeavors for this fund to continue providing 皇家华人 students with emergency grants on an ongoing basis. We need your support in this endeavor. You can donate to the鈥�.
The Academic Senate and Faculty Executive Board will continue to work with the 皇家华人 Student Government to assess the fund’s impact and make necessary improvements.
